In the past 15 years micro breweries became fashionable and popular all around the world. In the beginning the established big breweries tried to prevent this development, in the meantime they are accepted as the coloured dots on the green field and motivate the big breweries to care for better quality and more different products. With the worldwide success of the micro breweries we had to watch a dramatic increase of manufacturers of brewing equipment (most of them are just traders). The majority of these companies does not have the proper experience and technological background to manufacture high quality equipment. Sometimes you get the feeling, that everyone who ever made something cylindrical in his life, has now mutated to brewery manufacturer. But there is more to it than just welding cylindrical tanks and covering them with copper, that fact can be seen at the dramatically increasing number of drop outs. The major reasons are bad beer, inconsistent beer quality and also, and that has to be made clear, commercial mistakes.
